The National Aviation Hall of Fame honored Dr. Heather Taylor with the Prestigious Combs Gates Award for Breaking Through The Clouds: The First Women's National Air Derby. The award was presented by Harrison Ford, Bob Hoover, Eugene Cernan, Clay Lacy, Sean D. Tucker, "Fig" Newton, Randy Babbitt and NAHF President Phil Roberts.

Induction into the Amelia Earhart International Forest of Friendship.
Dr. Heather Taylor was honored as a 2018 inductee into the International Forest of Friendship, in Aitchison, Kansas. The Forest is a living, growing memorial to the world history of aviation and aerospace. She was recognized for her work in preserving women's history including the enormous contribution of her documentary, Breaking Through The Clouds: The First Women’s National Air Derby.
The International Forest of Friendship is made up of trees representing all the 50 states and 35 countries around the world, including a “moon tree” grown from a seed taken to the moon on Apollo 14. Among the more than 1300 honorees are such internationally recognized flyers as Amelia Earhart, Charles Lindbergh, the Wright Brothers, Sally Ride, Eileen Collins, and Chuck Yeager.
